TV catchup

February 26, 2018

I will never catch up on all the TV I want to watch. I just need to be resigned to that.

Altered Carbon:  Watched the first episode and haven’t heard anything that encourages me to watch further. So…much…cyberpunk…  and I think three dead women he’s pining over? I dunno.

The Flash:  I love how they’ve just gone full gonzo this season. Nothing makes sense. I like it anyway.

Runaways: It really feels YA and that’s a good thing and I liked it.

Legion and The Expanse are about to start back up. Star Wars: Rebels has aired but I haven’t seen it yet.

I decided to give up on The Orville. It wasn’t bad, I just wasn’t looking forward to it. I am, however, looking forward to catching up on Discovery, even though it’s kind of weird and upsetting. The second Mudd episode was kind of great. (That’s the most recent episode I’ve seen, so no spoilers, I’m way behind. That’s where the catching up comes in.)

And there’s all the stuff I haven’t watched. Babylon Berlin looks right up my alley in terms of style-heavy historical and I’ve heard good things. Britannia has been recommended to me. And is that right that Sean Bean has a new series?  I’ve also heard that I need to watch The Good Place but I’m a little scared to.

Peak TV. Argh.

Netfilx Marvel: Defenders: Dare Devil, Iron Fist, two others I don’t know. Sigourney Weaver as a Marvel baddie. Also has Scott Glenn as a Splinter kind of charater.

I’ve seen all the Netflix Marvel offerings. Couldn’t finish Iron Fist. Defenders was meh. They all have too many episodes for the stories they tell. First season of Daredevil is still the best of all those.

  3. David Hack Says:

Iron Fist was the least appealing of the characters in Defenders for the three episodes I have seen. I’ll make note to watch Dare Devil.

  4. Jo Anne Says:

I like The Good Place. It’s quirky. The episodes are only 30 minutes long.

  5. Cana Says:

The Good Place may actually be the best thing currently on TV. Don’t be scared!

I’ll never catch up with *anything* that interests me. There is just too much world.

  7. Can I ask how you get Discovery? I have to use my playstation to get CBS ALL Access (which is also how we get Netflix and Hulu and Amazon Prime) but the service is TERRIBLE. It freezes at least ten times per episode and none of the other providers have this issue. I may have to actually buy this series on DVD in order to really enjoy it.

  8. carriev Says:

I have a friend who gets CBS all access and we have viewing parties at his house. This is partly why I’m behind.

  9. Thomas Stacey Says:

The Good Place is a lot of fun and really quite funny. Plus it is nice to see Ted Danson from Cheers and Becker back on TV again. I’m also looking forward to more Legion and would like to watch Runaways, which may be the thing that prods me to pick up Hulu.

  10. The Good Place is a remarkably good little show that could, and does. A solid cast and talented writing. Watch past the 4th episode and you’ll be hooked.
