My encounter with the famous Dr. Lambshead

July 7, 2011

I must confess, for some time I doubted the veracity of the stories I had heard of Dr. Lambshead — not to mention the very existence of the good doctor himself.  Well, no more.  I count myself among the believers.  Once a book of this magnitude has fallen out of a UPS truck and struck you upon the temple — as did this one me — you cannot help but become a believer in a great many spectacular things.

Read more wondrous tales of the inimitable Dr. Lambshead at the virtual abode of co-editor Jeff VanderMeer.

Did I mention this is an anthology due out very soon from HarperCollins?  It has a story of mine in it, “Threads,” in which silly things happen to very nice people.  Because that’s how I roll.  Did I mention it’s an illustrated anthology?  Here is some of what you’ll find within:

Now, I must leave you so can finish reading my own copy.

Is this THE steampunk story you’ve been talking about?

It’s actually not, though the anthology as a whole has steampunk elements. My story isn’t very steampunk, actually.

The real steampunk one is coming out next year in the Mad Scientists Guide to World Domination.
