a bit of news

My short story “Amaryllis” has been nominated for a Hugo.

I think people heard my squee in the next zip code.

See, I grew up reading science fiction.  My parents read science fiction, and I read what they read, and I don’t remember actually learning what the Hugo Awards are, I just kinda always knew.  (This also means I haven’t had to explain it and what it means to my parents, who may actually be more excited about this than I am.  Because they’re awesome.)  Being part of that, a lineage of SF writers going back to the stuff my mom and dad read when they were kids?  Pretty awesome.
