random thoughts on a weekend

The universe is made up of processes. Atoms, molecules, elements, thermodynamics, gravitational forces. Stars going nova, nebulae colliding to make new ones, all those stars collected into a galactic spiral that is itself moving and growing and colliding and collapsing. Particles coalesce to make matter, planets, systems. Proteins form, build cells, create life, which builds more life. And after a few billion years you get An American in Paris.
We humans make and do so many things that seem to have no evolutionary purpose or benefit, and I think that’s awesome.
Also, it suddenly occurs to me that the wretched sequel An American Werewolf in Paris should have been about something else entirely.
