Nice. I prefer the American covers though. They’re… smoother, sleeker looking. God only knows why they even bothered changing it for us Brits. They’ve not even changed all that much! It’s just the font really. *bemused*
Yeah, I’m not really sure why they changed what little they did. When you compare them side by side, the images are a little bigger as well. I’m sure there’s some arcane marketing reason for it all.
I think they are pleasing to the eye. But beyond that I just think it is darn cool that you have reached the shores of Great Britain. Very nifty and congrats.
the british editions are clunky, i really prefer the american editions. and being a brit, they reached these shores long ago. it´s called amazon.co.uk
So, I guess I will have to buy your books from Sweden now if I want to continue getting the american covers. But congratulations of getting a british publisher as well (I assume).
Fun (to me) fact though: In Sweden the Nancy Drew character is called Kitty Drew, so all those books are “Kitty and the…whatnot”
Not much difference that I can see. But I’ll still be buying them on import if they are released in the US first.
Kelley Armstrongs books have completely differnt covers in the UK which are far nicer that the awful american ones but I really don’t see the point of the samll changes they made.
As for the American English, I found it perfectly understandable. I don’t think you used any terms that are too obscure. We get a lot of US TV shows over here and so we generaly don’t have problems understanding mainstream American english – even if we don’t use it.
found ‘em, tho’ it would be easier if the guys at Waterstones would make up their minds what they are, they were in horror in one store and fantasy in the other, two stores, same chain, same City. ridiculous. ah well.

Maybe I’m just stupid, but why is there a (slightly) different cover for the books?

I kinda like the British fonts more. Ties in well with the whole radio show aspect.

Are they translated into British English?

The American editions have been available there as imports for ages — plus, I sent boxes over to my friends there.
Kitty Drew…awe, sounds like they should get together for lunch!

Hey, I just thought. If you’re being published over here now then you really should come for a visit and a signing !

Trust me, it’s on the list. I have friends there I haven’t visited in ages.

For a while, one of the big chains here shelved it in romance…
The way I look at it: Kitty has something for everyone!
